A lil series about the smash bros characters evolution through the 4 and a half game series thus far in the franchise. starting of course with the original 12, with 4 fighters per page through the 4 games.

next up are some characters who were considered for the first smash bros, but did not make it until later additions, there were more than 4 but here are 4 i decided to do first: Bowser, King Dedede, Mewtwo and Pit

We shall explore how these 4 have come through the 4 games thus far. This is just how I view their evoltuions, as well as some info and experience i found through playing the games.
So letsa go

The rise of Bowser

Bowser was considered for the first smash bros, but did not appear until the second game, where he was just a bulky turtle, not much else.. He was way outclassed by the other characters like fox falco, the fire emblem duo and most of the cast really... By brawl, Bowser was relatively the same, but  changed up his side B to something more useful, but not enough to really make him as badass as he currently is in smash 4. Now in smash 4, Bowser has good speed, power and is a force to be reckoned with, he (along with one other mario character) have taken the spot from mario as one of the most dangerous in the mario representation!

King Dedede, hail to the king baby

King dedede was only seen in the background in the n64 smash, and he almost was in melee, but the director decided not to "overrepesent" his own created game with two characters, all the while being a hypocrite with lots of mario and pokemon representation, seriously you added two fire emblem characters to the game but you could not add 2 kirby characters.... but yea King dedede got into brawl and was a mid tier character. By smash 4, king dedede gained an entire new strategy and moves to use, with a double edged sword of the gordo toss, a new final smash and some new air and down A, dedede has a whole new gameplan.

Mewtwo, off and on and off and on again

like the others, mewtwo was considered for smash 64, but did not make it, in Melee he debuted, but was not a force to be reckoned with at all, he was absent in brawl, training up (also from the panel, he also left after melee pikachu passed away, he'd often visit its grave between training sessions) And at first mewtwo wasn't in smash 4 until DLC enabled him to return, now with mega evolution he is much better than melee! But he now has to deal with the fact that powerhouse characters are the norm in smash 4.

Pit flies in late

So I heard that pit was also considered for the first, but the wings were what made it hard to figure out how they'd work when jumping, pit did not appear until brawl, probably because he was goofing off in melee and nobody really payed attention to him til uprising happened, by brawl he was added to promote kid iccarus uprising, and honestly in brawl pit was a pain in the butt to face. By smash 4, pit really changed, no longer was he a multi-hit pain, he changed up his moveset and his own personality really, and added his doppleganger dark pit in, and dp sure is a lot better than pit in some ways (electroshock arm and more power)

so anyways those are the 4, and next up, is the other two 64 latecomers and the beginning of the melee, meaning the grid will change in part 6, since 4 will be the last 4x4 grid format.
So anyways comment and enjoy

Well, Mr. Sakurai wanted King Dedede in since the first Smash Bros. I also find it quite odd that in Melee, Fire Emblem gets two fighters, but is the only represented franchise without a single stage.
